15th of October 2011 was the day of protests across Europe against the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the economic policies of European national governments. About 150.000 protesters gathered in Rome joining the international movement of indignados, born in Spain after the crisis of december 2011 against unemployment, precarious and illegal work, social inequality and financial speculation. In the afternoon, near Piazza San Giovanni, the peaceful parade turned into a violent guerrilla, with cars burned, shops broken, for a total of more than one milion euro damages, 200 injured and 12 arrests.
